Beta-carotene biomass «Vitaton» is a complex substance produced through the microbiologic synthesis using a strain of Blakeslea trispora fungus. The substance is a dry powder of orange colour, containing 5-7 % of beta-carotene. Besides beta-carotene, «Vitaton» also contains vitamins of B group, vitamin E, essential amino and fatty acids.
(Beta-carotene biomass «Vitaton»)
One of the applications of beta-carotene biomass is in feeding animals and poultry. Beta-carotene biomass “Vitaton” can replace the Lucerne flour in compound feeds, thus 3 times decreasing energy consumption for the vegetable raw materials production. Another advantage of beta-carotene biomass “Vitaton” use in livestock farming is its stable availability throughout the year.
Recommendation for adding “Vitaton” to the feed
Beta-carotene biomass «Vitaton»:
• Increases the biological value of feeds for livestock and poultry as well as the nonspecific resistance
• Removes radionuclides and is a antioxidant
• Restores epithelial sells of bowels
• Is effective for musculoskeletal system
• Improves digestion and provides immunity development
• Regulates the processes of bloodformation
• Increases the quality of meat, fur, eggs, roe
• Decreases the quantity of feed per 1 piece of a product
• Increases the carotenoids content in yolk, increases egg-production
• Decreases loss of cattle and poultry
• Is a natural colourant, improving the colour of yolk and meat
Approved by the State Department of Veterinary Medicine of Ukraine No.15-14/147 dated June 5th, 1998.
The effectiveness of the beta-carotene biomass Vitaton use in the livestock and poultry farming as a feed additive was investigated by the scientists of the National Agrarian University (Kiev) and the Sumy Agrarian University (Sumy).
