INDUSTRIAL TESTING OF THE EFFICIENCY OF THE VITATON (BETA-CAROTENE BIOMASS) USE IN PIGS FEEDING. The tests were held at "Stepnoj" Ltd, located in Kamenko-Dneprovskij ditrict of Zaporizhzhya region Выводы 1. Use of Vitaton as a source of ?-carotene in diets of the breeding boars promotes an increase in impregnating ability of the spermiums. 2. Feeding Vitatone to sows of the large white breed in a dose 0.6-0.8 g per head daily promotes an increase in birth rate of pigs by 2.21 heads and the piglets yield at ablactation by 1.1 head per one farrowing. 3. Use of Vitaton in feeding of sows throughout the period of insemination and pregnancy allows increasing the piglets yield at farrowing on the average by 40 heads from 36 sows for one farrowing, gross gain of live weight of pigs - by 718 kg and profit on sales of pigs-weanlings in live weight - by 434.9 UAH. 4. For the purpose of increase of reproductive function it is recommended to introduce into the mixed fodder for sows and breeding boars Vitaton in quantity of 0.05% throughout all period of use.
